Five Minute Friday: Present

+

Present is that gift you give yourself when all of who you are is completely in the moment.  No past, no future.  No thoughts of to do, gotta happen or need to do.  It’s when I sit and talk to my daughter and notice the thick curl of her eyelashes.  Or when my friend and I have dinner and I can taste every spice and curve of the pasta.  It’s the window gaze that has me lost in time.  The flutter of butterfly wings, the bloom of a daisy, the ruby red of a tomato at the market.  It’s when sweet watermelon juice dribbles down my chin and I don’t care.  It’s the crackle of crushed rock on a hike.  Wind in your hair, vistas in your view, time stands still.  Every exposed pore on my skin raises to a bump with senses awakened.  There’s no fear of future failure, no regret of past mistakes.  It’s the heart whisper, the stirring quite of now in His presence.

Your imagery is delicious and a gift all by itself.

Loved reading this Rose – simplicty of heart and soul that beg the mind to take pause and drink in the depths of all our present moments. How often we miss the little things because we’re on the prowl for the big things. It’s amazing how much more rich life is when we slow down to “be” in the moment wherever and with whomever that moment is.

Thanks Marvia. You are so right. I have to make a conscious effort to stay present and enjoy the moment. I have to say, my children do help me be more spontaneous and enjoy the moment.

      Blessings,

      Rose
